Hearing survivor testimony is how we honor both the living and those who were killed. Their strength inspires us, and their stories ensure we never forget those we lost on October 7th.
Tomer Meir's Journey
Tomer Meir, 23, was born in Tel Aviv and raised in Givatayim, Israel. At 18, he enlisted in the IDF, serving as a combat soldier and medic in the Paratroopers Brigade.
On October 7, 2023, Tomer was at the Nova Music Festival with a group of friends. What began as one of the most beautiful nights of his life became a fight for survival. Tomer survived, but returned home carrying the trauma of that day and a new reality: PTSD.
In the years since, Tomer has worked to build a meaningful life alongisde that trauma–helping establish the Nova exhibition and share its story around the world, pursuing his university degree, and working with children and young people with special needs.
Above all, his journey has become one of faith: questioning, searching, struggling, and ultimately discovering a deeper relationship with God.
