Tobie and Meira Tugendhaft
Forty years ago, before Chabad of the Hamptons had a building or a name most people recognized, it had a home. Tobie and Meira Tugendhaft opened theirs, hosting the very first Shabbos minyan and turning their living room into the place where Jewish life in the Hamptons began. That decision, made quietly and generously, set everything else in motion. Their friendship with the Baumgartens and support for Chabad, has never faded, and neither has the path they helped chart. Forty years later, we are still walking it, and it started with a home.

Scott and Leah Steinman
Scott's first visit to Chabad wasn't really a visit at all. He came to shul carrying his baby son, and he kept coming back. What started as a single Shabbos morning grew into a friendship, and then into something deeper: a family reshaping its own relationship with Judaism, one choice at a time. Scott and Leah Steinman have become some of our closest friends and most devoted supporters, and their journey is proof that Chabad of the Hamptons is a home for every season of Jewish life, not just the one you're born into.

David and Haley Stern
We met David and Haley Stern the way we meet so many young families, through their children. Their daughter Jade joined Hamptons Jewish Preschool in 2020, and it didn't take long to see that Haley has a rare gift for bringing people together. This year, David and Haley opened their home to host the Rosh Chodesh Society, and something wonderful happened. A vibrant group of young families found their way to Chabad, drawn in by Haley's warmth and David's steady support, and they are already building the next forty years right alongside us.
